Osaka Japanese Language Education Center-Features-JASSO

OJLEC is set up by the independent administrative institution under the jurisdiction of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) of the Government of Japan.

Our center is assigned by the Japanese Government to set up ‘University preparatory course’ for the students who intend to go on higher education.
Students whose years of education come less than 12 years due to the system of own country will be qualified to apply for universities in Japan upon graduation from our center.

Our education is ensured by certain experiences and seasoned carriers.Teachers cherish human communications.
One year full time course (April entrance) gives 1,170 hours of lesson and one and a half years full time course (October entrance) does 1,740 hours of it.
Small classes classified by the level of Japanese cope with all levels of students from beginners to the advanced.
Multifaceted curriculum effective for higher education entrance exams includes regular exams, summer supplementary lessons, counsels for higher education, speech contest in addition to daily lessons.
Our center uses materials developed based on the active research. Materials for teaching non-kanji students are also substantially available.

Number of teachers

A homeroom teacher assigned for each class provides individual college guidance resulting in many successful graduates. (Updated data and information for universities and colleges are always available at the school’s college guidance room)
Study curriculum for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) and Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) including their practice tests are included in regular classes.
Subjects necessary for entrance exams such as mathematics and Japan studies are included in the choices of basic subjects.
Our center is in strong cooperation with higher educational institutions: We have about 50 universities in our orientation for entrance examinations held at our center. Our students are recognized as preferred applicants by around 30 universities.

Many graduates, after their studies at universities or other higher educational institutes, are playing active roles in various industries and educational fields both in Japan and at their home countries.

OJLEC Student Grant
Up to 300,000 yen (in a lump sum) is to be granted to students of our center who have achieved excellent academic results and have secured admission to a university or college in Japan.
OJLEC Scholarship
Scholarship of 100,000 yen (in a lump sum) is to be granted to students who have achieved high academic results and attendance, scored high in EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Student) and have secured admission to a university or college in Japan.

Student Visa is to be provided. (The center will apply for the Student Visa as the proxy of the students abroad who have been granted with our admission.)
The center is recognized as a school exercising appropriate management on its students by the Osaka Regional Immigration Bureau.
The center is reviewed and accredited by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education.

Our center is equipped with satisfactory facilities; language laboratory, PC room, Cafeteria, school infirmary and etc.,
Dormitory (54 rooms) is built on our school property .
Dormitory students are supported by Japanese resident assistants (RA) from university or graduate school.
Free consultations with visiting physiologist and doctor are available.
Our students are qualified for student discount on commuter pass and long travel by train.
Basketball, volleyball and other sports can be enjoyed in a gymnasium of nearby junior high school.

Students are invited for various festivals, traditional arts, theaters, international exchanges, home visit programs and so on by local communities and organizations.
Students are sent as lecturers to local elementary and high schools for international understandings.
School excursions (spring and autumn) and other extra curricular activities can be enjoyed.
